Get up to $10K in Instant Savings: We Handle Your Mass Save® Rebates

At North Winds Mechanical, we're excited to introduce a new service designed to make your home upgrades more affordable and hassle-free. We now manage the entire Mass Save® rebate process on your behalf, ensuring you receive the maximum savings available without the paperwork headaches.

Why This Matters

Upgrading to an energy-efficient heat pump can significantly reduce your home's energy consumption and improve comfort. However, navigating the rebate process can be daunting:

  • Complex paperwork and eligibility requirements

  • Strict deadlines for rebate applications

  • Delayed reimbursements, sometimes taking weeks or months

These challenges often discourage homeowners from pursuing energy-efficient upgrades.

What’s New in 2025

Starting January 1, 2025, the Mass Save® heat pump rebate program has undergone significant changes:

  • Whole-home air-source heat pump rebates are now $3,000 per ton, capped at $10,000 per home.

  • Partial-home rebates remain at $1,250 per ton.

  • Income-based enhanced incentives offer up to $16,000 for eligible households.

  • The HEAT Loan program now offers 0% interest financing with varying terms based on income brackets.

  • Rebate applications must be submitted by February 28, 2026.

These updates are effective for installations completed between January 1, 2025, and December 31, 2025. For more details, visit the Mass Save heat pump rebates page.

Federal Tax Credits for Heat Pumps

In addition to state rebates, federal tax credits are available to further reduce the cost of heat pump installations:

  • Energy Efficient Home Improvement Credit (Section 25C): Offers a 30% tax credit on the cost of qualified heat pumps, up to $2,000 per year. To qualify, the system must be ENERGY STAR Most Efficient certified, installed in a primary residence, and a Product Identification Number (PIN) is required for tax filing.

  • Geothermal Heat Pump Tax Credit (Section 25D): Provides a 30% tax credit for the installation of geothermal heat pumps, covering both equipment and installation costs. This credit applies to both primary and secondary homes, making it accessible for a wide range of homeowners looking to upgrade to energy-efficient geothermal systems.

These federal tax credits are available through December 31, 2025. For more information, visit the IRS Energy Efficient Home Improvement Credit page.

How We Simplify the Process

With our new service:

  • All you need to provide is a copy of your power bill.

  • We handle the entire rebate application process, ensuring all documentation is accurate and submitted on time.

  • Instant rebates of up to $10,000 are applied directly to your project at installation, reducing your upfront costs immediately.

Why Act Now

Given the upcoming changes:

  • Rebate amounts are set to decrease in the coming years. For instance, the whole-home rebate is expected to drop to $9,000 in 2026 and $8,000 in 2027.

  • HEAT Loan terms are becoming shorter, leading to higher monthly payments for many homeowners.

By acting now, you can lock in the current rebate amounts and more favorable financing terms.
